What is Blackjack?
Blackjack is a game traditionally played with cards, where Players try to get as close to the number 21 without going over while also being at a higher total than the Dealer. Each Player starts with two cards and can choose to continue to add to their total by drawing more cards. The number on the card matches the value the Player or Dealer adds to their total. The exceptions to this are Aces which can be valued as 1 or 11 at any time and all face cards (Jacks, Queens, and Kings) which have a value of 10.How does this work in FFXIV?
Instead of using cards, the Dealer uses the ‘/dice 13’ command to roll a random number between 1 and 13. Each of the numbers represents a card from a traditional deck of cards. The number rolled matches the card value. For example, the number 2 rolled is the number 2 card. The exceptions to this are 1’s which represent Aces and the face cards which are represented as 11s, 12s, and 13s. Face cards are still valued as 10 even though they are represented by higher numbers.

How to Play?
Each round starts with the Dealer opening trade windows with each Player in the party to collect bets for the round. DO NOT open a trade with the Dealer. The Dealer will control the pace of the round by opening trade windows with each Player when they are ready to receive that Player’s Gil.Each Player places a bet by giving the dealer the amount of Gil they wish to wager. DO NOT trade the Dealer anything other than Gil. Please see below for details on bet minimums, maximums, and payout each round. After all bets are collected each person is given two rolls/a pair of cards along with the Dealer and the game begins!Starting back with the first Player, the Dealer will ask that person if they want to ‘Hit’ or ‘Stand.’ In specials cases, Players may also call for a ‘Double Down’ or to ‘Split’ their hand (see ‘Special Circumstances and Terms’ below for more details).Hit – The Player is dealt a card which is added to their total.
Stand – The Player chooses to stop receiving cards for the round.A Player may choose to ‘Hit’ as many times as they’d like
until they ‘Stand’ or go over 21.A Player who goes over 21 is referred to as a ‘Bust.’ If a Player ‘Busts,’ they automatically lose the hand and all Gil bet that round, regardless of whatever the Dealer draws.After every player has chosen to ‘Stand’ or has ‘Busted’ the Dealer goes. The Dealer will always ‘Hit’ on a 16 or below. The Dealer will always ‘Stand’ on a 17 and above. Once the Dealer ‘Stands’ the results are calculated, and bets are paid out accordingly.If a Player’s total is less than the Dealer, or is over 21,
they lose all the Gil they wagered at the beginning of the round.If a Player’s total ties with the Dealer, they automatically
‘Push’ their bet to the next round.If a Player’s total is more than the Dealer and has not gone over 21,
they win a payout based on the amount of Gil they
wagered at the beginning of the round.Once winnings are paid out, the next round will begin with the Dealer collecting bets from anyone who wishes to continue playing.

Special Circumstances and Terms
There are times where a Player may be allowed to play differently or chooses to play differently in hopes of winning more Gil. Each of these instances are detailed below.Double Down – A Player may choose to ‘Double Down’ on a hand after their first two cards have been dealt. If a Player chooses to do this, they will trade the Dealer Gil equal to their original bet for that round and then ‘Hit’ a single time. The player who ‘Double Downed’ must stand after the single ‘hit’ regardless of their hand total unless they ‘Bust.’ A Player who ‘Busts’ on a ‘Double Down’ loses just like any other ‘Bust.’ Players MAY NOT ‘Double Down’ on a hand that has already been ‘Split.’Natural Blackjack – When a Player or Dealer’s first two cards total 21, this is called Natural Blackjack. If this happens, that person automatically wins. While not likely; a Player who has 21 from three or more cards, can still lose to a ‘Natural Blackjack’ or be ‘Pushed’ if the Dealer also achieves a 21 that round. ‘Natural Blackjacks’ cannot ‘Push’ and are always paid out as winning hands.Push – When a Player’s final total is tied with a Dealer, they ‘Push’ their bet to the next round. This means they win nothing for the current round and their bet carries over into the next round of play. A Play who ‘Pushes’ cannot bet again until they either win or lose a round.Soft – A hand is ‘Soft’ when the total involves an Ace and both potential sums are less than 21. For example, a Player is dealt an Ace and an 8 for their first two cards. That Player would have a ‘Soft 19’ which means while 19 is the higher of the two numbers, the Player may choose to consider the hand a 9 instead.Split – A Player may choose to ‘Split’ a hand if they are dealt two of the exact same cards at the beginning of the round. When this happens, the Player trades the Dealer Gil equal to their original bet and gets dealt two more cards which are separated and paired with the original hand to make two separate hands. The Player then gets to play two hands that round with the same wager on each hand. When ‘Splitting’ a hand it is possible to win both hands, win one and lose one, or lose both hands. Players MAY NOT split a hand more than once in a round. Players MAY NOT split a hand if it has already been ‘Double Downed’ on.

Bet Minimums, Maximums, Payouts, and VIP Benefits
Payout here at Luxuria is 200% of the original wager. For example, if you bet 150,000 Gil and win the round, you are paid back 300,000.
The minimum amount of Gil a Player may bet on a hand is 50,000 Gil.
The maximum amount of Gil a Player may bet on a hand is 250,000 Gil.
Bet Maximums for a Luxuria VIP member is 500,000 Gil instead of 250,000 Gil.
All bets must be in increments of 10,000 Gil.
